Pep Guardiola is a big fan of one player being linked with a move to Arsenal.
Guardiola said: “Houssem Aouar is a very good player. He is incredible.
“We talk a lot about (Tanguy) Ndombele, but Aouar is also excellent. He’s always very calm with the ball at his feet, with an excellent technical quality.
“Lyon really has a very good team. There are young people full of quality and I think the team is in place tactically.”
If Guardiola believes Auoar is a “very good player” then few can argue with him, with the Spaniard having established himself as one of the very best managers of all-time.
Should Arsenal withhold their interest in Aouar this summer and eventually seal a deal for him, they would be landing a player with huge amounts of quality, despite his tender age.
Since the start of the 2018/19 season, Aouar, who will be looking to help Lyon reach the Champions League final for the very first time in their history when they face tournament favourites Bayern Munich in their semi-final on Wednesday evening, has scored 16 goals and registered 21 assists, which is an impressive return for a central-midfielder of such a young age.
Though the offer was reportedly turned down, Arsenal may be tempted to go back in with a fresh bid for the midfielder, who is considered as one of the brightest prospects in European football.
