Predicted line-up vs Leicester City as two new signings set to make debuts

Arsenal face Leicester City in the Carabao Cup tonight.

Arsenal face Leicester City in the Carabao Cup tonight as Mikel Arteta’s side look to continue their impressive recent form, and Express Sport is on hand with all the latest team news and a predicted line-up.

Arsenal enjoyed a good result on Saturday as they beat West Ham 2-1 at the Emirates.

The Gunners looked impressive as goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah earned Arteta’s side the three points.

But the boss is set to change around his team significantly tonight and give some of his star players a rest ahead of Monday’s Premier League clash away at Liverpool.

New signing Runar Alex Runnarsson is expected to be handed his first start having joined the club only this week.

The young goalkeeper was signed as a backup to Bernd Leno following the departure of Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa.

He is set to be used as an understudy to the German, and will likely play in domestic cup competitions.

Runnarsson’s arrival was only confirmed on Monday, giving him little time to train with his new side, but it is expected that Leno will be rested for tonight’s trip to the King Power.

He will have another new arrival in front of him in defence, as William Saliba is set to be given his full debut tonight.

The centre-back signed a year ago, but spent last season on loan at St Etienne in Ligue 1.

He has been left out of Arsenal’s two Premier League squads so far this season, and didn’t make it off the bench against Liverpool in the Community Shield.

Saliba, 19, is set to have an experienced centre-back partner in David Luiz for the trip to Leicester, with Rob Holding also playing in a back three.

Sead Kolasinac is set to play out on the left, with Cedric Soares on the opposing flank.

In midfield, Mohamed Elneny could be given a start alongside Joe Willock.

However, the latter is reportedly on the brink of leaving the Gunners and therefore could be left out.

In attack, Nketiah is set to be rewarded for his late goal against West Ham with a start tonight through the middle.

Nicolas Pepe is still yet to be given a start by Arteta this season but will likely feature on the right side of the front three. Bukayo Saka is expected to be started on the left.

Predicted Arsenal line-up (5-4-1) to face Leicester City:

Runnarsson, Saliba, Luiz, Holding, Kolasinac, Soares, Elneny, Willock, Saka, Pepe, Nketiah.
