Willian has delivered his verdict on his Arsenal debut.
The 32-year-old made his first start for the Gunners following his free transfer from London rivals Chelsea earlier in the summer, getting the nod over Nicolas Pepe on the right-hand side of an attacking trio.
And he responded in the perfect possible way with a hat-trick of assists as Alexandre Lacazette, Gabriel Magalhaes and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang got on the scoresheet in a 3-0 win over Fulham.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta was certainly very pleased with what he from his two debutants.
“They were both really good,” the Spaniard told reporters after the game. “For Willian it’s a little bit different because he knows the league, the country and is very settled here.
“So I knew his performance would happen straight away.
“For Gabriel, it was a big challenge for him today to come in. He hasn’t played football in the last six months and he had a terrific performance.”
But what did Willian make of his first outing in a Arsenal shirt? Well, he took to Instagram to share his thoughts.
“I’m very happy with my debut! Great team work guys!” he wrote. “But it’s only the beginning, let’s keep working hard! “Thanks for all the support Arsenal fans.”
To get multiple assists on his Arsenal debut was something that did not go unnoticed by supporters.
In fact, Willian ‘s performance garnered a massive response on social media.
Next up for the Brazilian and co is another London derby, but this time at home to West Ham United next weekend.
